Mr. Wong, Detective (1938)

      This movie is the first in a series of six films from Monogram Pictures released between 1938 and 1940.  The series was a “B” formula film offering.  The film would have been shown first on a double bill.  The first five films starred Boris Karloff as Mr. James Lee Wong, while in the sixth film Keye Luke portrayed Mr. Wong.      Hugh Wiley

     Charlie Chan’s The Red Dragon (1945) is a Charlie Chan film from Monogram pictures.  Monogram took over the series in 1944, when Twentieth-Century Fox stopped producing the series.  Sidney Toler bought the rights to the Charlie Chan series and took it to Monogram.  Monogram was ecstatic to land the series.      Monogram would produce the series until 1949 with Roland
