In this episode, I discuss 19th Century professional wrestlers Andre Christol and Thiebaud Bauer plus review All Out 2021, AEW’s highest selling pay-per-view to date.
Update
Happy birthday, baby girl!

Artist rendering of Thiebaud Bauer, Greco-Roman wrestling specialist (Public Domain)
Collar-and-Elbow wrestling is the most popular wrestling style in the 1870s but it’s popularity begins to wain towards the end of the decade. Fans start to want to see more Greco-Roman wrestling, which gains popularity with the emergency of William Muldoon in the late 1870s.
Reasons that Andre Christol and Thiebaud Bauer is becoming one chapter in the pioneer wrestlers book. It does allow me to include Duncan C. Ross.
Main Content and Review
All Out 2021 on September 5, 2021 from Chicago, Illinois
Card opens with TNT Champion Miro wrestling Eddie Kingston – Miro is 13-0 and Kingston is 8-1 in his last 9 matches. The powerful monster versus the everyman. Solid, hard hitting match to warm the crowd up.
John Moxley versus Satoshi Kojima – Kojima would be 51 years old in September 2021. Kojima was still in great shape. Moxley is in better shape today. Enjoyed match but not as much as I thought.
Britt Baker vs. Kris Statlander – I was looking forward to this match but it turned out to be meh. Both Baker and Statlander wrestled well but it didn’t bowl me over. Statlander saving the superplex was incredible.

Young Bucks vs. Lucha Brothers- Hype man for the Mexican rap artist is more jacked than the 4 wrestlers. Worst match so far. Good high flying moves but too fast to follow at times.
Casino Battle Royal – Okay. Would rather that Thunder Rosa or Jamie Hayter won but it was Ruby Soho’s AEW debut.
Chris Jericho vs. MJF – MJF’s entrance, which was a rip off of Jericho’s WWE entrance, was great. Better than I thought but Jericho beating MJF does not make sense long term.
CM Punk vs. Darby Allin – Crowd gave it a big match feel. Great match. I worry Darby will be in a wheelchair by the time he is 40 like Dynamite Kid.
Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall – Quick, squash match for Wight.
Kenny Omega vs. Christian Cage – Good match and Omega’s finisher from the second rope was a good end to the match. End of PPV was overly done.
I enjoyed the show and if it was the only AEW PPV that I watched, I would be interested in watching more shows.
