Main Content
Stanislaus Zbyszko would not have been able to wrestle Charley Olson, if the Chicago mayor had not posptoned the Frank Gotch versus Zbyszko match from Memorial Day until Wednesday, June 1, 1910. The mayor felt Chicagoans should be decorating their relatives graves.
Zbyszko wrestled Olson in a two-out-of-three-falls catch-as-catch-can wrestling match. Zbyszko outweighed Olson by sixty-five pounds but Olson owned the catch wrestling experience advantage.
Olson wrestled offensively during the first fall, but pushing Zbyszko around wore him out. Zbyszko took advantage of Olson’s weakened condition.
