In this episode, I discuss John “The Nebraska Tigerman” Pesek’s tour of Australia in 1929. I also review AEW All In 2023 from Wembley Stadium.

AEW creative has been particularly bad. Tony Khan has a talent for booking matches his fans want to see but the creative to get there does not make any sense. Khan does have a talent for booking decent matches particularly for his fan base.

I now know who Ad Santel wrestled in his first challenge match with a judo or jujitsu black belt. Santel wrestled Kyoshi Noguchi in December 1915 in  San Francisco, California.

In the summer of 1929, John Pesek traveled to Australia for a 20 match tour between July and November 1929. During his tour, John Pesek wrestled Joe Zikmund, Allan Eustace, Ad Santel, Scotty McDougal, and Jim Browning.

Pesek won all twenty matches but the two greyhound racing dogs Pesek imported into the United States changed his life.

I also talk about John Pesek’s strong relationship with his younger brother Charlie, who served as Pesek’s business partner, until Charlie’s untimely death in 1934.

AEW All In 2023

CM Punk versus Samoa Joe

CM Punk playing the “hit and run” game to avoid Joe’s offense building the anticipation that Joe will eventually get his hands on Punk. Punk is a little more heelish in this match.

Punk gets color after Samoa Joe puts Punk through the front of the announce table. Punk wins with a Pepsi Plunge off the top rope. Very good match.

Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Takeshita vs. Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi

Came close to skipping to the end until I saw Takeshita was in the match.

Good match. Could have been a few minutes shorter. Takeshita stole a win by rolling up Omega after Omega wiped out White and Robinson with the V Trigger.

FTR vs Young Bucks

FTR win a pretty good match. Fans really enjoying the show.

Some ridiculous multi-man mess. Not in this lifetime.

Hometown girl Saraya wins the four-way match for AEW Women’s World Title

Darby Alin and Sting versus Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage

What did Swerve do to end up in this match? Swerve ends up in the coffin.

Will Osprey versus Chris Jericho

Jericho has slowed down so badly. Osprey wins a match that went too long.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn versus The House of Black

Disappointing mess. All three pin Brodie King.

MJF versus Adam Cole

Great package leading into main event. They won the ROH tag team title earlier in the pre-show. Definite big match feel.

Started to overstay their welcome. Could have shaved five minutes off the match. This match turned it into a thumbs up event.
