Main Content
I recently discovered Reginald Siki, who was born Reginald Berry in Kansas City, Missouri on December 28, 1899. Siki was one of the earliest African American wrestlers to achieve national fame in professional wrestling during the 1920s.
அவரது தொழில் வாழ்க்கையில், Siki defeated ஜிம் பிரவுனிங், Wladek Zbyszko, John Grandovich, மற்றும் Alan Eustace.
Siki took his first trip to Europe in 1930, when he traveled to Latvia. Siki also wrestled in France and Switzerland during the 1930s.
While wrestling in Europe, the Nazis arrested Siki and interred Siki in a prisoner of war camp. After the Allies defeated Germany, Siki returned to the United States, where he wrestled primarily in Los Angeles.
Siki died in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve 1948, four days before Siki’s 49th birthday. I will be researching Siki more in the next few months.
விமர்சனம்
Dan and I discuss the two to three minutes of surviving film on the 1930 match between World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Gus Sonnenberg and former world champion Joe Stecher.
