Spooks Run Wild (1941)

Leo Gorcey is the most frequently associated actor with the East Side Kids franchise. Leo Gorcey was born in New York City on June 3, 1917 to Bernard Gorcey and Josephine Condon, both vaudeville actors.

Leo started acting early but his most frequent role was Muggs Malloy in 69 films in the Dead End Kids, East Side Kids and Bowery Boys film series. Unfortunately, Leo Gorcey was known to live hard.

Gorcey married five times and was involved in a number of incidents like when he drove off two private detectives with a firearm after they tried to invade his home to collect on a marriage settlement. Gorcey died one day before his 52nd birthday on June 2, 1969. The cause of death was liver failure.
