The Mad Doctor Meets the Somnambulist
Dak li jiġri huwa l-ewwel film arti suċċess kummerċjalment. Il-Kabinett ta 'Dr. Caligari (1920) kien rilaxxat f'Jannar 1920 issir sensazzjoni Ġermaniż u internazzjonali. It marked the beginning of the German film revival during the 1920s
The German Expressionist Movement in German art strongly influenced this film. Expressionist painters drew buildings sloped at odd angles, oddly shaped furniture, eċċ.
Disinn sett tal-film rifless dan l-istil tal-kompożizzjoni. Bini, bibien u toroq kollha slope f'angoli fard jew huma forom irregolari. Għamara huwa wkoll oddly forma. Sedili Chairpersons huma sitt saqajn fl-arja, libreriji dgħif u siġġijiet għandhom dhur irregolari.
Robert Weine filmed in a standard continuity format making the story understandable to the average viewer. L-istorja nnifisha hija orrur u ditektif istorja told mill-perspettiva wieħed raġel, storja fi storja.
A barrani misterjuża jismu Dr. Caligari, played by Werner Krauss, comes to Hollstenwall to display a somnambulist Cesare, portrayed by Conrad Veidt. A somnambulist sleeps for days on end. Calagari says Cesare has slept for 20 li 30 snin. Inzerta jew le, a series of murders occur once Caligari and Cesare arrive in Hollstenwall.
Il-protagonisti tal-film huwa Francis (Friedrich Feher), li hu fl-imħabba ma 'Jane (Lil Dagover). An unknown fiends murder Francis’ friend leading Francis to pursue Dr. Caligari, who Francis believes is responsible for the murder.
The continuous tension between Francis and Caligari drives the story, which is complicated by Cesare’s infatuation with Jane, Francis’ love interest.
Weine filmed a twist ending I won’t spoil for you. Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer wrote the film and strongly opposed Weine’s changes. Weine did not believe audiences would accept the film without the twist ending.
Inti se tkun trid tara dan movie fuq Edition DVD-Kollettur Speċjali, li restawrata l-film għall-veloċità oriġinali tiegħu ta ' 18 pied kull sekonda. Films Amerikani kienu sparati fil 24 pied kull sekonda. Meta l-kopji oriġinali għal distribuzzjoni video saru, a copy of the film was recorded on a 24 pied kull sekonda projector. Ir-reġistrazzjoni f'veloċità differenti għamlu l-film tfittex ftit quirky u ġrew. Il-film attwalment għandha b'pass ħafna deliberat, when viewed at the proper projection speed.
The Expressionist scenery will distract you at first. When I first watched the film about ten years ago for a college class, my wife and kids thought I was watching some 1960s psychedelic drug film. Even after explaining Expressionism, ħasbu li kien fard. It-tlieta ta 'tfal tiegħi jkollhom jaraw il-film għal reviżjonijiet mħallta. I ser tavżak tiddeċiedi fuq il-film innifsek.
Aġġornament: I recently saw the restored version on Netflix. I recommend this copy also.
