Scarlet Pimpernel (1935)
Htio sam pisati o jednom od mojih omiljenih filmova, Scarlet Pimpernel (1935). It is an adaptation of the novel by the same name, napisao barunica Orczy. The film (affiliate link) tiče engleskog vršnjaka, who risks his life by saving French aristocrats from the guillotine. The story is complicated by the fact the peer is married to a French woman, koji je bio prevaren da pošalje aristokrate na giljotinu.
2) The acting is superb. In one exchange between Sir Percy and Chauvelin, Sir Percy, who acts like a fop through much of the film, reads a poem that he has written about the Pimpernel with Chauvelin. One of the lines is “those Frenchies seek him every where.” Chauvelin placidly responds, “I like it, Sir Percy. Particularly that those ‘Frenchies seek him every where’ dio.”
To je izvrstan film koji se vrti otprilike 90 zapisnik. Many of the DVDs leave out the scene between Sir Percy and his brother-in-law Armand, što je jedan od ključeva za razumijevanje Sir Percyja i njegove motivacije.
