איך געוואלט צו שרייַבן וועגן איינער פון מיין באַליבט קינאָ, די סקאַרלעט פּימפּערנעל (1935). It is an adaptation of the novel by the same name, written by Baroness Orczy. דעם פילם (affiliate link) concerns an English peer, וואס ריסקס זיין לעבן דורך שפּאָרן פראנצויזיש עריסטאַקראַץ פון די גויללאָטינע. The story is complicated by the fact the peer is married to a French woman, who was tricked into sending aristocrats to the guillotine.

Leslie Howard portrays the Englishman, האר פּערסי בלאַקעניי, and Merle Oberon plays his wife, דאַמע בלייקני, וואס טוט ניט וויסן איר מאַן איז די סקאַרלעט פּימפּערנעל. בירגער טשאַווועלין, portrayed by Raymond Massey, arrives from France to discover the identity of the Pimpernel. Chauvelin tricked Lady Blakeney into betraying her friends in the past and attempts to get his clutches into her again by threatening her brother Armand’s safety. I enjoy this movie for a number of reasons.

3) עס איז סייכל איבער בראָן. כאָטש האר פּערסי איז טויגעוודיק פון פיזיקלי דיפענדינג זיך, but Sir Percy is successful because of his ability to out think the enemy. אין איין סצענע, זיין אנהענגערס ווילן צו שטורעם דער פראנצויזיש גאַריסאַן אָבער האר פּערסי דערציילט זיי אַזאַ אַקציע וועט ופפירן זיי אַרויסגעוואָרפן. זיי געקענט געווינען איין שלאַכט און פאַרלירן די מלחמה.
It is a great movie running just about 90 מינוט. Many of the DVDs leave out the scene between Sir Percy and his brother-in-law Armand, which is one of the keys to understanding Sir Percy and his motivation.
