Still from Tough to Handle (1937)

Grandpa Sanford believe he won the lottery. Grandpa will be able to use the money to improve the circumstances of his grandchildren, Mike, played by Frankie Darro, and Gloria, played by Phyllis Fraser. Tuy nhiên, the lottery ticket is a fake.

Instead of following the orders of the gang’s “Ông. Lớn” and paying off the ticket, the men kill Grandpa Sanford. Gloria works for the local newspaper, which assigns the case to Joe MacIntyre, played by Kane Richmond.

MacIntyre believes the trail leads back to Mike’s friend Tony Franco. Franco owns the local nightclub. Mike is not convinced of Franco’s involvement. Franco further alleviates suspicion by hiring Gloria to sing in his club.

MacIntyre and Mike will eventually have to risk their lives to solve the case and rescue Gloria. Tuy nhiên, Tough to Handle is more crime drama than mystery. The viewer should be able to guess the identity of “Ông. Lớn”.

The film (liên kết liên kết) runs 58 and a half minutes. I rate the film as average but fans of Frankie Darro and/or Kane Richmond will probably enjoy it.
