Ida Lupino plays Ann Brandon, a socialite, who is either in danger or an accomplice of Moriarty. Secundum Internet Movie Database, Lupino herself was born February 4, 1918 to actors Stanley Lupino and Connie Emerald. She accompanied her mother to the United States in the 1930s and began to land bit roles.
Her best film was probably High Sierra (1941) with Humphrey Bogart. Ms. Lupino made a number of movies in the 1940s and 1950s before switching to television. She died on August 3, 1995 of a stroke while battling cancer.
Hoc film discurrit 81 minutes and is not a “B” film. Autem, when Universal picked up the series in 1942 and inexplicably set it in the 1940s, it became “B” movie fare.
