I discuss the first of three matches in 1926 between World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Joe Stecher and John “De Nebraska-tijgerman” Zand. Stecher and Pesek wrestled in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, April 29, 1926, for five hours before the referee raised Stecher’s hand.
