Bulldog Drummond’s Secret Police (1939)

Bulldog Drummond’s Secret Police (1939) is the second-to-last Bulldog Drummond film (affiliate link) starring John Howard as Drummond. Drummond is once again preparing for his marriage to Phyllis Clavering.

As usual, the marriage plans are disrupted by the revelations of Professor Downey regarding Rockingham Towers, the Drummond Estates. The treasure of an English king is hidden in the catacombs underneath the estate.

Complicating the search is the historian’s former assistant has stolen some of the material related to finding the treasure. He is apparently trying to find the treasure before the rightful owner, Captain Drummond.

The film is a quick-moving 56 minutes. I found it one of the most entertaining films in the series.
