Cov ntsiab lus tseem ceeb

I realized that we have not talked much about William Muldoon, the topic of my first pro wrestling book.

Besides being the World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion from 1880 mus 1889, Muldoon was America’s first celebrity trainer.

Only one opponent ever troubled Muldoon in Muldoon’s specialty, Greco-Roman wrestling. Clarence Whistler gave Muldoon fits in their series of matches.

Whistler usually held Muldoon to a draw including a 7-hour stalemate that drove all the fans off with the exception of about a dozen determined souls.

Muldoon only won one match from Whistler, when Muldoon accidentally injured Whistler on a slam. Muldoon accepted another draw but Whistler demanded the referee declare Muldoon the winner based on Whistler’s withdrawal.

Tragically, Whistler died in Australia during 1885 tom 26 xyoo. No one else troubled Muldoon during the remainder of his title reign.
